COOKIE NOTICE

01 Scope and purpose

This Cookie Notice explains how all-ears.tv ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on the free version of the Service, including Guest browsing and LAZY mode. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions.

Cookies are small text files stored by a browser. We also use browser local storage. Local storage can remember small pieces of information on your device, but it is not sent automatically to our servers with every request.

02 Your choices

When you first visit the Service, the cookie controls let you:

  • accept required External media and optional Analytics; or
  • accept only essentials, including required External media, without optional Analytics.

External media is required because embedded YouTube playback is the core function of the Service. Analytics remains optional and can be enabled or disabled at any time through the Cookie settings link in the site footer. We apply your new Analytics choice without delay; withdrawal does not affect processing that took place before it.

03 Necessary functional storage

The following browser-local items are used to provide the learning functions you request. They are not sent to our servers for Guest users and do not track you across websites. They cannot be switched off through Cookie settings, but you can remove them in your browser settings. Removing them resets the relevant preference or progress.

If an account feature introduces an essential session or security cookie, we will add its name, purpose, provider, and duration to this Notice before using it.

04 Analytics - optional, for users aged 16 or over

We use Google Analytics only after a user aged 16 or over actively enables the Analytics category. We configure Analytics with a maximum cookie duration of two months, do not link it to Google Ads, and do not use it to create advertising audiences.

Analytics helps us understand, in aggregate, how the Service is used and improve it. Google may process data such as pages viewed, approximate location inferred from an IP address, device and browser information, and time spent on a page. We retain Google Analytics user-level and event-level data for two months, as described in our Privacy Policy.

If you reject Analytics, the Google Analytics tag is not loaded and these cookies are not set. You can also use Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

05 YouTube and external media - required

The Service uses YouTube's embedded player to play clips. External media must be accepted before using the Service because embedded video playback is its core function. For a user aged 7 to 15, a parent or legal guardian should make this decision.

After external media is enabled, we use YouTube's privacy-enhanced domain (youtube-nocookie.com) where available. This reduces the use of the embedded view for personalisation on YouTube, but it does not make the player cookie-free. When the player is loaded or a clip is played, Google or YouTube may access or store cookies and similar technologies, and process technical data such as device, browser, IP-address-related data, and playback information.

If you do not accept External media, you cannot continue into the Service. You may instead visit YouTube directly, where Google's own terms and privacy choices apply.

06 Children

The Service is designed for users aged 7 and over. Users aged 7 to 15 may use Guest browsing and LAZY mode without an account.

The Analytics category is available only to users aged 16 or over and is off by default. For a user aged 7 to 15, a parent or legal guardian should decide whether to accept required External media and its related technologies.

07 Managing technologies in your browser

You can delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Doing so can reset your LAZY-mode progress, saved line, layout preference, or cookie choice. Blocking all browser storage may stop YouTube playback or some Service features from working correctly.

08 Updates and contact

We will update this Notice before adding a new non-essential technology or materially changing the technologies described here. We will show the new effective date at the top of the Notice.
